Baby Einstein is my favorite!

Hello, Azure here. I wanted to tell you all about something my Mommy got for me. It's called Baby Einstein. They are these movies just for me! I love the big box with all of the colors and people and doggies and such on it. Mommy calls it a TV. I think it's a big entertaining box! This is me, watching Baby Newton.

There is another thing that I am also really enjoying, it's called a Bumbo seat. My cousin Cassie let me borrow it until I'm too big. I get to have my feedies in this thing. Lots and lots of feedies!!! I love to eat in my Bumbo seat.I'm starting to learn how to use these hands of mine. They used to scratch my face and try to rip my eyes out, but I am showing these fingers and hands who is boss. Oh, and speaking of fingers..... I have discovered something that I don't think other babies know. Did you know, that food comes out of your fingers?? Yes, I suck and suck on my hands while Mommy gives me my feedies, and food comes out! Look at what it does to my hands...

Another very delicious thing, is my clothes!! I love to eat whatever I am wearing if I can get it in my mouth! I love my bibs too, after feedies if I'm quick, I suck more of the yummy paste off the bib before my Mommy can take it off me.


I am learning new things every day, and my Mom and I have so much fun together. She is such a dork!! She dances, and sings to me. I really like the singing, especially when I'm sleepy and it's time for ni nite. She puts her hand on my chest, and I hold her hand and start falling asleep. She sings songs by The Grateful Dead to me. I like them. They're a really old band, but my Mom is getting really old, and she even saw them in concert back in her day! Wow she is OLD!!

Meanie Dr. Feedies!!

Welcome to another day in the life of Azure...

This is my Mom and Dad. They love me a lot. I love them too, I was just really mad about something at the time. I get angry!





Normally my life is pretty painless. My mom wakes up when I'm hungry at night, and she feeds me my bottle until I'm sleepy again. I only wake up once in the night needing food, I pretty good at sleeping. So is my Daddy! Then, Mommy puts me back in my crib and I go back to bed. Then I sleep some more until my belly wakes me up, and in turn I wake Mommy up. We like to sleep late, usually about 9 or 10. Then the first thing I see when the sunshine is in my room, after I start squawking is my Mommy! See, I've figured this out. I'm hungry... just squawk and she's there. I pooped my pants... just whine and Mommy can read my mind (or sometimes she sniffs my bum). I really like having a mommy that helps me keep my bum nice and fresh and clean. So, after I have a nice new diaper in, we go downstairs. Today, Mommy put on a DVD that is supposed to help me make my connections in my brain. I know what Yellow is. Or at least, she thinks I do. She thinks I speak English too because she is always talking to me in her big fancy talk instead of trying to talk like me. I know three words. COOoooo... Pbbbbb... (with spit and bubbles) and ahhhh. I am the smartest baby alive!! But anyway, she bought some Baby Einstein DVD's for me. I'm going to share them with my cousin Tori. Her full name is Victoria Eve. I may end up calling her something else besides Tori.. who knows, but I'm sure we're going to be close to being sisters because our Mommies are sisters. I'll teach her all she needs to know about life. I'll show her what bugs to eat, and what dirt tastes best, and I'm sure we'll do bad sings together because that's what close cousins do. We're going to have so much fun being naughty together! Wee!!!

I had a traumatic experience yesterday. Mommy took me to my favorite stranger, Dr. Feedies. He said that I weight 14 pounds and am 24 inches tall. I'm in the 50Th percentile on height and weight, apparently that is where I should be. My head however, is in the 75Th percentile. OK, so I have a big head, so what?? I just won't wear hats. No big deal, my mom's head is ENORMOUS, so mine will always look smaller that that melon on her head!!! So, at the doctor, these two mean girls came in. They both jabbed a needle right into my thighs!!!! I screamed and screamed! Mommy said she was sorry. I'll show you Mommy... in fact, I'm a bit ripe, why don't you go ahead and clean my undercarriage for me! Then, we went to a BBQ to say goodbye to my cousin, Michael. My aunts are nice to me. My aunt Michele and Lissy are very nice to me. I also got to see my cool uncle Jeff. I really like Jeff. And I like my cousins too, they are nice to me. My aunt Jen wasn't there unfortunately, she lives in Las Vegas. And my aunt Suzanne wasn't there either, because she lives far far away, in California. Mommy said we will go visit them soon. I have a great big family, and Tori and I are the two youngest. Boy are we going to be spoiled! HA!! Well, it's time for me to take a nap. If I don't nap, I get all frustrated and I cry for no apparent reason. Mommy can soothe me but it takes a while. So many thoughts go through my head when I'm tired, that I'd rather just cry. Let's all take a nap shall we??

Home from the hospital

Well, after I had to stay at the hospital for 4 days, they finally let me go home. I wasn't quite sure what to think of everything. Especially my brother, Louie. He's my 8 year old Boxer brother, and he has very stinky breath. He loves to kiss me. At first, it would take my breath away, but now... now that I am a master of eating the rice cereal feedies, he enjoys helping Mommy by cleaning my face for her.

I looked like this when I got home from the hospital. I was really little. I only weighed 5 pounds, 11 ounces and then when I couldn't digest my feedies, my weight dropped down to 5 pounds 6 ounces.

But then, I discovered something delicious! Mommy makes me rice cereal but she adds bananas, or pears to it. I hate peaches, and I hate apples, but boy do I like me some of those new kinds of feedies!! Look at me now! Look at my cheeks! I can hide all sorts of snacks in the rolls in my neck. It's great. Mom has a double chin, but she doesn't think she looks cute at all. I do! We're twins!

I have so many things I want to tell the world, but for now, it's time for my morning nap.... or else Mommy will pay and pay she shall! Catch you all later!

Meet Azure

Well, this is my first blog. I wanted to share the life of my first daughter, Azure Lyn. She is my everything. She is amazing. She is only 4 months old, but I thought if I can blog about her adventures, that's better than relying on my burned out brain to remember all of the little things. So here goes......


It's April 16th. I was not actually due until May 15, but see... I have these long toenails that are pretty sharp (like my Daddy) and I decided I was so done with this water bag thing, so I popped a hole in it with my sharp nail. Next thing I know... I can hear Mommy yelling to my Daddy to hurry and pack a bag! Hey... at least I kicked that hole when Mommy was going to the bathroom anyway... so all that water just started coming out. So, I hear daddy come into the bathroom and say "oh honey, you're just peeing" and me saying UM... I AM NOT!! So, Mommy's yelling for Daddy to grab this and that... and Daddy yelling "WHAT???" So Mommy just decided to stuff a towel down her pants and pack that GO bag herself!

So, off we go to the hospital. Mommy wasn't in any pain. Then we get to the room, and Mommy starts feeling a bit of pain. Then the epidural... ahhhh. Then, the nurse pokes around and touches my legs and says "that's not a head" and walks out. So Mommy was quite concerned. Then the doctor came in, got out his special spying device and discovers that I had turned myself around the wrong way. So, just a little more time and next thing I know... doctor is yanking me out by one leg. Gramma was very nervous, watching through the glass. They would only let Daddy in the room, and he was recording what those doctors were doing to Mommy. My head was stuck... so he had to keep pulling which made Gramma even more nervous. But then... there I was. They poked me, they sucked my nose and mouth out, and they did all sorts of bad things. But then I saw my Mommy. And she saw me.

Mommy looks so scared right now. I guess I was born a few days before I was fully cooked.

So... my belly wouldn't digest food. They had to put a tube down my nose and feed me that way. Then they would suck out my food and see if I digested. I didn't for almost 4 days. But then I could, oh boy!!! FEEDIES!!!

Speaking of Feedies.... now let me explain why Mom & Dad and Grandma and other people find it funny that I call my food feedies. The short version is my doctor is from Venezuela, and has an accent. "Feedings" sounded just like "Feedies" to us so since day one.. that is what we call my food. Here I am drinking my first bottle, which RUINED my chances of having Mommy's jugs! So, now the jugs are gone (and dragging on the floor or so Mommy complains constantly) and I am a formula baby.

Here I am, still a little jaundice, but doing just fine!
